Paving is a key feature for any garden. It is used on terraces for entertaining and relaxing, on paths to join areas of the garden together and as a base for other structures in the garden. It is also used in the construction of driveways to create parking areas and attractive entrances to your property.

Paving will be chosen for a number of reasons; Colour, texture, functionality and of course cost. We understand that everybody has a budget. Brownie-points are experienced in using;

  • Natural Indian Sandstone and limestone
  • Travertine
  • Slate
  • Granite
  • Reclaimed Yorkstone
  • Reconstituted paving (man made slabs)
  • Resin bonded Aggregates and glasses
  • Tarmac
  • Bricks and block paving

At Brownie-points we have the experience to use our materials in the best possible way, starting quite literally from the ground up! Using our laser leveling system, we plan out the paving, taking into account water run off and making sure we adhere to the governments SUDS scheme (sustainable urban drainage systems.) We than compact a layer of type 1 MOT (crushed Granite) to form a sub base. Paving is laid, according to its type, on a suitable bedding material. This is generally a sharp sand and cement mix, but for block paving is just sand and for natural stone we tend to add a little soft sand for adhesion.

Well it all got a little technical there for a moment, but perhaps it goes a little way in showing that we really do know what we are doing.
